About
Research interests:
• Greek tragedy and its ancient reception
• Greek theater history
• Athenian social and cultural history
• The fourth century BC
• Ancient intellectual & literary biography
Current projects:
I am in the process of revising my PhD thesis ("Classical Tragedy in the Age of Macedon: Studies in the Theatrical Discourses of Athens").
Together with Richard Fletcher of Ohio State, I am also working on editing a volume of collected papers based on a conference that we held at Cambridge in 2010 (Creative Lives: New Approaches to Ancient Intellectual Biography).
Other works-in-progress include an article on one particular celebration of the Great Dionysia in Athens, and a chapter (for an edited volume) on the earliest phases of Aeschylean reception and reperformance.
