About

I am a PhD student in Mechanics of Solids and Structures at Brown University. I am very lucky to have Prof.Vivek B. Shenoy as my adviser.

I have worked at  Solid Mechanic Lab(LaMSID - Laboratoire de Mécanique des Structures Industrielles Durables; UMR EDF/CNRS 2832) of EDF(Electricte de France) for my internship on Steering Methodologies on XFEM Cohesive Elements.

I have done my BE in Civil Engineering from the Bengal Engineering and Science University (2006) and my first Master in Structural Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore (2008).

I have done Master of Science in Computational Mechanics at the Ecole Centrale de Nantes(ECN), France. I spend the first semester (September 2008-January 2009) at the University Polytechnic de Catalunya , Barcelona ,Spain(Dual Degree).I will be in France up to July 2010.

My research interest is in all areas of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (TAM). At Centrale Nantes(France) , I worked on eXtended Finite Element (XFEM) method and Level Set ,Technique for the Crack Mechanics Problem.I worked on Stochastic Structural Dynamics in my first master thesis at IISc Bangalore.
I am also very much interested in Programming.I am very much familiar with C++,FORTRAN, Matlab,Maple,Mathmathica and comfortable in Linux OS.

Besides my research works, I like traveling very much. So far i have visited Paris, Barcelona, Nantes, Madrid, Eindhoven, Enschede.

Please contact me for  any kind of academic discussion in the field of TAM and also in Programming.I will be very happy to help you.
