Research interests: international relations theory and the practices of world politics; representations of conflict, militarisation and security; US foreign policy (particularly the Vietnam War and the 'Vietnam Syndrome'); gender (with a focus on militarised masculinities); popular and visual forms of global communication (including film, television and other electronic media); qualitative research methods (especially forms of discourse and visual analysis); critical pedagogy.
